Just wondering as I've never scanned on the mac before, but you install fine reader, plugged the scanner to your mac and its good to go? Are there any additional scanner aps that needs installing? I'm considering getting this as this will help with college.

The actual speed depends on your settings, most notably the resolution you scan at. I’m just using it with the default settings and it’s damn fast. Zaps through my documents in no time. The OCR process definitely takes the most time. It takes more time to Ocr the document than to scan it. However, this occurs after the document has been completely scanned. I can’t give you an exact time for this. So basically, you put your stack of pages in the ScanSnap, press scan. it zaps through the documents and spits them out the other side in no time, and then begins the OCR process. All pretty simple and easy. > On 12 Jan 2015, at 5:35 am, Jonathan C Cohn <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hmm, can somebody elaborate on the performance of SnapScan with Abby in terms > of pages per a minute? > > I have found that the TWAIN drivers for flat bed scanners seem to limit one > to 3 minutes for 1 page.
