Sounds like you need to set up a DLNA server on your Mac assuming your TV supports DLNA wifi video streaming. There are a couple apps out there to play media via DLNA. Found this article which does a nice roundup:

I haven't tried any of this as I don't have (or plan to have) a smart TV but it seems like others are getting this to work.
