I use a combination of Onyx and Clean my Mac.

Clean my Mac is paid for but does a good automatic job. There are lots of 
features but all I do is launch the app, go to the Actions menu, then press 
scan. Repeat the process of going to the actions menu and press clean. Wait a 
few seconds, enter your password when prompted, and wait for the finish tone 
and that is it. You can n ow close the app.
Onyx does some different things like rebuild launch databases. 

I am not sure that either app deals with ad ware though.  You are probably  
looking  at a proper security application  like Macscan  for that.
