The difference is this. Apple TV is a very small box which you connect to your AV receiver or HD TV via HDMI cable. Esentially, it's used to stream custom content to your HD TV. Think Youtube or netflicks and so on. A sound bar is, as it's name implies, a set of speakers built in to an elogated bar which connects to your stereo's analog outputs. Not the same thing at all.
