Hi Listers, I recently asked questions about WD My Cloud storage device application accessibility. Frustrated by lack of accessibility for such an interesting device, I have been writing to WD to try to make them understand the difficulties Voiceover users face. Firstly, I had issued a support ticket on their website to which initially I received no answer. Worried that they might shove accessibility under the carpet, I had an idea of finding them on Facebook. I wrote on their wall outlining the difficulties I was having with their desktop app and urging them to improve accessibility. Much to my surprise and subsequently excitement, I got a positive response. WD team member has also just responded to my support case, asking for more details of my difficulties which I have just responded too.
I was just wondering whether it might help if others who also have this device and already said they had trouble accessing the desktop app, could also write on WD’s wall on Facebook. I mean write courteously and firmly with a request for improvements to accessibility, especially if you had tried other related software to the WD My cloud devices. I hope we may be on the winner here. never thought Facebook carried so much clout!
