Hi, western digital drives are colour coded. Green is the consumer grade drive for use in standard pc’s. Red is the nas storage drive. Black is the gamer high performance drive. They have a blue as well I think. The difference in price very often doesn’t seem to justify the specifications on paper, but I guess red and black have better quality parts, energy saving features, heat disipation and so on. I usually buy green.
