Yes, I've noticed the same behaviour in item chooser where Voiceover announces a number of items followed by "and more". I also note that not all the elements on a page get listed in the item chooser, for instance buttons don't get listed. Nor can you look for an element in the item chooser list by its generic name, i.e. button, frame, etc. I regret that this is so because sometimes the only way you can locate an item on the page that's a part of a frame for instance is by looking for a frame in item chooser menu. I also find that once the item chooser list is compiled, Voiceover only reads a bit of an item , i.e. a few words, and doesn't always report correctly whether it's a link or something else. I'm not sure whether I need to report this. I'd like some more opinions on the matter from the list before I write to Accessibility.
