Hello Nicholas, I have just opened several file types, in non-default applications, using the Open With Submenu, including .mp3, .mp4, .doc, etc and there was absolutely no delay either visually or with VoiceOver when populating the Open With submenu.

Sometimes the delay is longer than others. I wonder if it depends on how recently you’ve opened that type of file in a different application, or how many applications you have that can open that type of file. Also, interested in whether anyone with good vision can tell whether the delay affects the GUI or just VoiceOver. That will determine whether I report this to Apple Accessibility or Apple’s general feedback mechanism. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
