Tim,
Thank you very much for the information. I did create a new account. I set up 
my email account and it immediately became busy. It behaves no differently than 
the other, although at first I thought it might. Is there anything else I can 
try? I notice you cannot delete the mail.app file. There has to be something I 
can do.
