I think your students should get in the habit of doing arithmetic anyway.

Subject: Slightly off topic

I wanted to ask the individuals on this list what on-line banking
systems work well for them. More importantly, what should I teach my
student while his classmates are doing 50 year old check writing
activities and balancing in the world of electronic banking? My gut
says these are absurd skills, for an outdated culture. I haven't
written a check in 8 years, and account balances are maintained and
updated automatically via my on-line banking.

If this message gets pulled I understand, but I frankly trust the
wisdom of this group more than that of my colleagues and university
professors in the field of educating the visually impaired. Feel free
to respond directly to me, if people feel it will bother the list.

Sean Richards Tikkun
