I've tried it on round cans and bottles and depending on the print on the label and the width of the item, it can read some things but minimal. OCR on round items is really hard and this isn't the app for that. It does state this in the user guide.
LCD screens vary in my experience from very well read to barely read depending on the contrast of print to background. I'm looking at some other factors such as size of the screen itself. This doesn't seem to be as big a factor as the contrast. Also, the screen print can't be scrolling. It must be stationary. I did try to read some things like print on a shirt, not the clothing label but the actual screen printed front and it did not read the shirt but I think the print was somewhat stylized.
