A lot of the clients that host with me for web hosting do still use FTP. And a 
lot of other sites I see around the net still do.
There are other ways perhaps of uploading websites, but FTP seems to still be a 
user's first choice.
WebDAV could be another choice, but from a System Admin's experiences like my 
own, getting it to work across platforms isn't exactly the easiest to do. Thus, 
FTP is less confusing and less headache prone.
If anyone else knows any other ways, I'd be interested to know too. But as for 
me and my customer's, FTP is it for the time being. :)
