Hello Jeff,

If you are near an Apple Store, Best Buy, or any retailer selling Apple
computers, just take your Laci in and attach it and see if it shows up on the
Desktop. I have done this several times when troubleshooting. Of course, I
always inform a sales person, first, but they are always happy to help out.

Also, does the drive show up when attached via USB?

Mark

Subject: thunderbolt test?

Hi listers, I have a 2012 MBP I bought on ebay. I have a Lacie external hard
drive that will connect with thunderbolt or usb. It doesn't show up on the
finder using thunderbolt. Is there any test on the mac to determine if the
problem is with my mac or with the external drive?
Thanks, Jeff
