Becky, Alex is right. You won't get to Export if you close the file first. I tried it myself that way, and it didn't work.
So, I say again and maybe I will say it better this time. With the file still open, and I do it while my text is still readable, press VO m, go right arrow to file, press down arrow to Export. Then press the right arrow and the first one to come up is pdf, so go down arrow one time and you'll hear one of the versions of Word. If you need another version of Word, keep going down arrow. If that is the right one, press enter. Then press Enter again. Now start tabbing until you hear something like Documents, or Desktop. I would choose one of them for now, and hopefully that choice will come up so you don't have to go looking. Otherwise, if you hear something that sounds like your hard disk or some other choice you don't want for your file to go into, press VO space; then press down arrow until you hear a choice that would accept for your file to go into. When you get the right one, or one you will take for now, press VO space again and it should tell you the menu is closing. Then tab again until you hear Export. Press return. If you have put your file in a location like the desktop or documents, you can find them easily and move them if you need to. I do that all the time because I have it less confusing for me, and it takes no time at all the move files if I want. If you are new to the Mac and need help moving them, let us know. People helped me on that. I had trouble with that when I first got my Mac. Regards, Gigi On Sep 4, 2014, at 5:12 PM, Alex Hall <mehg...@icloud.com> wrote: > That's why.
