Hi Lisette, yes, interestingly deleting an account in Mail doesn't delete its 
SMTP server. You have to do this separately.
Go into mail Preferences, Choose the Accounts tab, and then proceed is if you 
were going to edit one of your existing accounts.
As you move through the dialog, you'll eventually come to your SMTP server 
list. If you down-arrow through that list, you'll find an option called "Edit 
SMTP server list". Activate that option, and you'll see your old SMTP server 
still in there. Delete it, and this will solve the problem.
