I do use that method for some non-App Store apps, but Apple states that for apps downloaded from the App Store, the recommended uninstall method is as I described (touching and holding an icon on the Launch pad until the apps start to jiggle, then tapping on the X). I wonder if moving an app downloaded from the App Store to the trash achieves the same effect (e.g. whether there files and folders in other places that are also removed).
