Dear Christine, Hope you're well. I remember having this conversation with you earlier this year. Since then, I've figured out a work around to open Bookshare files in Mavericks. After you download the daisy file from Bookshare, open up the folder you downloaded and search for the file with the xml extension. Rename the extension to html. You'll then be able to open and read the book in Safari with VO.
