For two years or so, I used Strong VPN and it worked
flawlessly. I only used it with my iPhone, not with my PC or
Mac. The only time it went down was when Hurricane Sandy hit

Another VPN service I have used, which worked extremely well for
me was HotSpot Shield from AnchorFree. I found this in the
Apple store. I have never incurred any charges with them, but I
haven't ever used the service for more than just a few minutes

something if you use them on a regular basis. You'll need to check that out.
You may be wondering why, if both of these services work so
well, I used the past tense when describing my experiences with
them. The answer is simple. A close friend set up a very good
and reliable VPN server, so I use it now. Nevertheless, I can
truthfully say that both Strong VPN and HotSpot Shield did an
excellent job of meeting my needs.
