I think Tim's directions from back in March were pretty detailed. I'll
paste them here. If you get really stuck just ping me directly and I can
add/delete whichever address you need.

Hi,
It sounds to me that changing between HTML and/or Basic HTML within the
web-interface is outside of what is being asked here. What I hear is
that the desire is to use the Apple Mail client but use a different
eMail address that is not a Gmail address. If this is actually the
direction you were hoping, then, yes, it is entirely possible and I just
did it earlier this week.
By far, the easiest way to go would be to do the following:
* open your browser and go to Google.
* sign in if you aren't already signed in.
* navigate to the link/item that reads as your Gmail account and press
return on it.
* Navigate to the right and find the Account link. If you have Group
navigation on, then it is in the group with the "Change Picture" stuff.
* in the Account page, in the Personal Information section, press on the
Edit item.
* navigate to locate the Other eMails area and press the Edit button for
that section.
* on this page, there will be an area where you can add an alternate
eMail address.
* once you've added the new address, a confirmation is sent to that
eMail address and you'll need to confirm.
What has happened here is that you've now related that eMail address to
your Gmail account. Don't worry, it doesn't affect anything about your
actual eMail account, it's just an association between your Google
account and this other eMail account. So, you can now login to Google
with this other eMail account and you have access to all the Google
features including your Group memberships. So, what to do next:
* go back to the Google main page.
* press on your name again and sign out.
* sign back in with your other eMail account.
* if you now go to an eMail message in Apple Mail that came from some
MacVisionaries topic, down at the bottom there is an item that says
something about "Visit blah blah link to get more options". Press on
that link.
* it should take you to a web-page that relates to the MacVisionaries
discussions. If it doesn't, close all windows in Safari then press on
the link again from in your Mail message and it will open the correct page.
* press VO-i to bring up the Item Chooser and enter the word "settings".
* two or more options should appear, "Settings" and "My Settings" for
sure. I usually press return on the "Settings" one then navigate once
left to the "My Settings" item. For some reason, going directly to the
"my Settings" doesn't always work as it should.
* once on the "My Settings" item, press return.
* arrow down to find the "My Membership blah blah" item and VO-space on it.
* navigate around this Group membership settings page and there will be
a pop-up with the various eMail accounts associated with your Google
account. You can VO-space on this pop-up and choose the non-GMail eMail
account for sending messages.
* navigate to the Save button and press it.
All done. Can't recall how fast it is applied but I believe that it is
pretty well right away. There is another method whereby you totally
disable the Gmail app within your Google account. It is a little more
drastic and complicated so I didn't get into it here. If that's the
direction you'd prefer to go, I'll see if I can clearly outline that
procedure in another eMail later.
HTH.
Later...

I did not think I was going to be changing subscription to this group

way to switch email addresses. Could I get a repeat of that? Thanks.
