I did a search on Walmart.com and found lots of USB Sound cards for less
then $19.
What do you think?
I'm not looking for the best sound, just a external sound card to use in
emergencies.

You mean like an external USB audio interface? I've been pretty happy with the
USB Dual Pro I bought several years ago. No drivers needed. Just shows up as
another audio input the various audio apps I've used.
