Hi,

The easiest method is to press cmd-1 for Icon view, cmd-2 for List view, cmd-3 
for Column view and cmd-4 for Cover Flow view.  Note that you must be in the 
open window or within a supported dialog box for these commands to be applied.  
Also, if you open a window, press cmd-2 to put it into List view, then cmd-j to 
open View options, you can check the box to have windows always open in List 
view.  Alternatively, if you prefer a different view, do the same to have them 
always open in one of the other views.
