Hi,

I've had this happen before and it's rather frustrating. The only good thing
is that it happened to other people, not me, so I didn't have the same level of
stress. The data is normally still on your Mini, it's just unable to boo up
properly. The best thing to do is have an external HD with MacOS installed on
it to use as your OS drive. Connect it to your Mini, start up the Mini using
the external HD, then copy over all your important files onto this drive. If
you don't have an external, this can be done using Firewire or Thunderbolt
cables where your MacBook is the controller and the Mini is put in Target mode.
I can explain that further if you wish to go there, otherwise, I'll leave it
for now. In either case, there are major problems, software-wise, with the
drive and the best thing to do is a re-format/re-install. As I mentioned in my
earlier post, it is entirely possible that there is a physical problem with the
drive that is causing this and you'll be able to determine if this is the case
when you perform the erasing of the Mini's HD.

Sorry, I didn't go into huge detail here, but I can give you more concrete
instructions if you need them. Good luck.

Later...
