Hi, Kawal, Yosemite is a Native American word. It is the name of a national park in California in the United States. The next versions of oS X are named after famous places in California. The last one, Mavericks, was named after a well-known surfing location on the California coast.
The phone calls will be routed through your phone, if you have one. I'm not sure if you can initiate one on your Mac and complete it on your device. I don't think you'll be able to make a phone call entirely on your Mac. admittedly, I don't have an iPhone, so I'm not as familiar with this option as others might be.
