I prefer the iPhone's keyboard to that of the iPad, just because the keyboard on the pad is more spread out. I use my right ;index and middle finger, depending on which side of the keyboard the next letter or symbol will be located. I am not as fast as my sighted wife, AMy Three Deer, but I'm good enough that I can type out middle-length E-mails or notes or whatever. I use Dictation for anything very complicated, though.
Interestingly, for those of you who may be using hearing aids with a Bluetooth connection to a streaming device, such as the Phonak Com Pilot ((tm)) and accompanying hearing aids, the newest generation of Com Pilot streamer is smart enough to recognize that it's connecting to "Mark's iPhone," and when I use dictation, Voiceover uses the channel usually used for receiving incoming phone calls. I find that the whole process of typing feedback over the BT connection is much faster when this secondary channel is utilized, but it can be slow if you're using the streamer in a music mode. The tech really has come a long way. * Mark BurningHawk Baxter * AIM, Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 * MSN: burninghawk1...@hotmail.com * My home page: * http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
