Well here's what I am doing! first command-option-f brings up a search dialogue./ Then if I type in a search string it will probably find that search string but then when I downarrow it may or may not find another similar string. If I enter on that string it will search for that string but I get no other searchable choices like attachment or date of from or to. It seems as if all that is missing from my mail window. I never even was aware that I had those search options until it was discussed on this list. I've been using mac mail since early 2007 I believe and never have seen those options. Jim
