Hi,

There are likely keyboard shortcuts for most of the controls you're speaking 
of.  For example, pressing cmd-option-right arrow moves about 10 seconds 
forward, cmd-option-left arrow moves about 10 seconds back, spacebar will 
pause/play.  If there are other controls you've got access to, I'd be 
interested to know as there might be shortcuts for them as well.
