Well, I think I got 'er fixed. Since I have two email accounts, I need to keep 
each one on a separate smtp server and somehow wires got crossed in that area. 
I ended up deleting both smtp server set-ups and doing them over again 
separately. Here's to hoping my messages to this list come up OK without coming 
from the wrong address anymore.

This was quite an adventure but I think I learned a handful of new details 
about mail.app than I probably cared to know:). Also a big thanks to my good 
ol' command line mail client, mutt over on my linux box to help me poke into 
detail header lines.
