Hi Alwine. Unfortunately you can not use the pearl scanner for anything else than open book.
I will hope that there will be a camerascanner available in the future that works and that can work with finereader in some way. Unfortunately there are not many camera scanners that we can use. Let's hope something will happen in the future. Maybe it will be the IPhone in the future that can do the taking picture job. I have played a lot with it it is nearly good enough, but it is difficult to find a camera app that really works for us, and an app that will allow us to save the pictures to 1 folder, and when you can easily get them imported in finereader and finereader does a rather good job. But we are missing a little on the phone yet. Best regards Annie.
