I use full screen almost exclusively and have no focus issues worth mentioning. 
I only use that mode because when switching back and forth between mac and 
windows in non full-screen mode, the VM window stays on top and I like to see 
the mac desktop (to the extent I can, which ain't much). Full screen or single 
view mode work fine either way on my setup.
