Only if you can find the regions. My experience with modern DVD's is that 
accessing them for extraction through VLC has not been very accessible.
My best bet to date which is not free but is quite accessible is Mac dVD Ripper 
Pro. 
You'll extract both the audio and video but the result will be smaller than the 
original DVD and it will be accessible because each title will be an individual 
file. I'm trying to extract the audio from those but VLC doesn't see the files.
