Hi May,

As James mentioned, VLC is a good alternative player if you don't want  
to use iTunes.  You'll need to download this from:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

You can also use QuickTime player, which is installed on your Mac, if  
you select a track and use the "Get Info" (Command-I) dialog as James  
outlined for VLC.  Use item chooser menu (VO-I) to find "Open with"  
and VO-Right arrow to the pop up button. VO-Space and use your arrow  
keys to change the setting from iTunes to QuickTime player, or to VLC  
if you've installed it.  Then VO-Right arrow past "Use this  
application to open all documents like this" to the "Change all"  
button and press with VO-Space.  If you navigate to "Open with" and  
hear "collapsed disclosure triangle" use VO-Space to expand it so you  
can read the information under the "Open with" options.
