If you can get new email but nothing else works, then the Mac must know your password. You can retreive that password as follows: 1. Open Keychain access from your utilities folder (command-shift-u) 2 Hit tab and enter pop.gmail.com into the search text field. 3. Hit tab a few times, and you should be in a table with just one item. The key for your pop account. 4. Hit command-i to view the key info. 5. Near the bottom is a view password checkbox. 6. You will probably be prompted for your keychain password. If you are reading these instructions, then 99% of the time this will be the same password as your login passowrd.
