Hey all. I have a ibook with no harddrive in it. Before I delv into its internals I want to make sure that all the existing parts have no strange faults that would render the system unusable when it has a harddrive in it. I'd like to be able to connect the ibook to my emac and use the tiger install on the emac to boot the ibook but i'm getting conflicting messages about if this can be done or not.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has done this before - what exactly did you do? did osx find sound drivers? Fyi, I did try connecting a drive via usb and installing tiger on it but it appears that osx can only boot from firewire volumes.
