I can't find the beginning of this thread and I can't give any info about watching TV on the Mac but for $5 you can buy a cable that allows you to connect a VCR, DVD player, or a digital converter box to the sound input jack of your Mac. I don't have a TV any more. I just have a converter box. But I don't want a picture, just sound.
