I remember reading that SuperDuper (probably only the paid version) can set up a "sandbox". In this configuration you have a stable copy of the Macintosh applications and OS on a read-only partition, and then SuperDuper will create aliases to those files on a second partition. This way if you break something (install a bad driver, test different settings...) then you can get back to your standard configuration with little fuss (just boot from the rreadOnly partition, and re-create the workspace partition.)
On another backup note, the tidbits article I mentioned earlier was about Crash Plan which allows automatic offsite backups. It mentioned general reasons to have multiple backups and the gave an overview of the technology and cost of several plans. Due to copyright reasons, I will not copy the article here, but the URL should be: http://db.tidbits.com/article/10473 Jonathan On Aug 18, 2009, at 5:40 AM, william lomas wrote: > > hi all is it possible for us as blind olks to make a partition ont he > drive ad restore a DMG of our leopard discs onto it for safe keeping > if so how? > thanks will > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
