I actually got a pair of the Schur that I used for band practice when I was playing. The drummer talked everyone into these earphones and they were absolutely great, but the drummer lacked the gear and technical knowledge to best leverage the concept of playing without amps etc. and just going into the board. WHen it was working, it worked great, but all this to agree that going outside for a walk with these in your ears would not be advisable and nor would it be a good idea for a sighted person. They when fitted correctly can block out more than 50% of sound unless pretty loud. They really are well constructed and I actually got the pair I have for $50 from 123 Music when they had them on sale.
