According to the Safari help, there is supposedly an 'x' at the top left corner of the page. You are supposed to click it to delete individual pages. It seems that it is invisible to VO. There are also indications in regards to how recently a page in top sites has been updated that is also unreadable to VO.
Looks like something to send feed back about to the Safari teem unless someone else has the answer.
