Another option, not necessarily better or worse, but works though is that the end call button can be activated by double tapping even with one finger anywhere along the bottom of the screen. Actually that option may not be as good as the others because you have to be in the right area for that to work for sure. It's like the unlock though in that anywhere the entire way across works.
