If you are running the Windows version of OverDrive and want to test this out, it's easy enough to check. If you copy and paste a track onto your iPod (e.g. a iPod Nano 4G) it will automatically check the box for manually managing your iPod while it adds that track to your iPod. The tracks will still be spoken. You could do this with some music or audiobook track before using the OverDrive Console to transfer protected WMA books to an iPod. You probably have to update to the latest version of OverDrive and also apply necessary updates for Windows Media DRM support on the Windows side. I haven't checked this in recent iTunes versions, but the tracks get added to a different location. I have no idea how these files would get announced on the new iPhone 3GS with VoiceOver, for example, since we just had a discussion on the viphone list of the fact that Audible books transferred by sync show up at the top of the Audiobooks section but are associated with an icon which is not separately labeled like the audiobooks from iTunes or the ones from your own library which you change to Audioboks with the media kind option (or the older way of using the "MakeBookmarkable" AppleScript that has worked on the Mac side for at least as long as this list has been around). They're stored in a different structure, and I recall that I had to find them under the "Recently Added" smart playlist the first time I added OverDrive mp3 files to iTunes. You can, however, add the OverDrive mp3 tracks to your iTunes library and use "Get Info" to fill in fields for Album, Artist, etc. Cheers, Esther --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
