Hi Krister, You asked about warnings that appeared while recently repairing permissions: > Hi good people. Recently when i have tried to repair permissions i > have gotten strange warnings. They say that: "suid file" this or that" > has changed and won't be repaired". Is this something to worry about > and what should i do if it is? Can i remove the offending files, or > should i do it at all?
These warning messages can safely be ignored. Here is the web page for Apple's Knowledge Base article dated March 6, 2009: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448 (Mac OS X 10.5: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions reports issues with SUID files) I'm only pasting in their final comment about this issue: <begin excerpt> Resolution You can safely ignore any "SUID file" or "ACL found but not expected..." message. These messages are accurate but are not a cause for concern. <end excerpt> Cheers, Esther --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
