Hi,

I have a Kindle; it was gifted to me. It isn't very accessible. The menus do
not speak. However, you can download books from amazon.com (the kindle
section) which can then be "synced" to the kindle wirelessly through a
visual menu. It is possible to memorize steps to get to a book or start the
speech etc. but it is not accessible enough for me to recommend it.

The deal with the books is that you can buy from Amazon's Kindle section
books magazines etc. Then read it on the kindle. You can also email a book
in text or Word or PDF (some problems exist with that format) format and
they'll put it in a Kindle format for you for ten cents.

For me it's fun, my husband and I share it and he is willing to assist me in
accessing menus (it's still a new device to me). I can operate the Kindle
myself once I've chosen a book to read I can turn the unit on from sleep or
from the off position, access the speech menu and turn the page. But, again
I wouldn't recommend it you'd definitely be better off using a Victor Reader
or an iPod shuffle or Nano. I'm hoping I can nudge Amazon into making the
device more accessible (it wouldn't take much!)

Jennifer

I get the impression it isn't all taht great and for the price, you
might as well get a Victor Reader or this new product Gw Micro will be
coming out with. You would probably get more more benefits. However,
of course you can also load audio books onto an iPod.
