Hi JG and Others,

There's a new review out for the IPod Shuffle at macintouch:

http://www.macintouch.com/reviews/shuffle3/

The sound quality appears to be very good for this 4GB iPod. The
controversial issue is the fact that controls for the iPod Shuffle are
on the headset cable means that you can't use your own headset in
place of the earbuds included with the 3G Shuffle (or alternatively
you can use the In-Ear headphones with Remote & Mic that work with the
4G Nano, that David reviewed last December) until Apple comes out with
its adapter.

With regard to the foreign language voices used by the new iPod
Shuffle 3G, David Niemeijer at AssitiveWare reported in the last
Community Digest:

"I now have confirmation from Apple. You cannot use those iTunes
voices for other applications because of license restrictions and you
cannot use Mac voices you may have installed for iTunes to use on the
new shuffle."

Cheers,

Esther
