Hey all, I believe it was me who addressed this a while ago, but I'm betting I wasn't the only one. :-)
The reason the battery menu appears to be backward is because when you read the menu, you're not actually reading the text for the battery icon itself. What this means is that the visual icon shows one thing and the menu shows it's opposite style of status indicator. So, a visual user would see the icon showing a percentage of the remaining battery charge if the percentage option is checked, and a time display for the icon if time is checked. The menu will show the opposite style of status indication so that a user will technically always have both ways of seeing the status. One way will be shown at the icon and it's opposite will be shown in the menu options as you arrow through them. This is why the menus always show up as opposite their settings for the battery.
