I am running Ubuntu Studio 13.04 on Macbook aluminium late 2008. I noticed that when the computer become idle and the screen turns black, the backlight fails to turn off.
I can tell the backlight is still on because when the computer is active and I turn the screen light to the minimum, the screen is darker than when the computer is left idle in the normal brightness setting.
