You can find who maintains a port via the ‘port info <port>’ command, e.g.
port info perl5
The perl5 port currently doesn’t have a maintainer. Note that perl5 is just a
wrapper port, which installs the current default Perl 5.x port as a dependency.
You can also look up the maintainers for a port via https://ports.macports.org/
