One thing I am wondering is how the default linker is being selected? Is it by name in the PATH environment variable or by some other mechanism?

If there is a “legacy” flag to tell the build environment to fall back to the old behaviour? Having trouble seeing if there is anything in the docs about this.

Thanks - I dug into Trac, looked at the ports I need and their dependencies, and concluded that I should wait before upgrading to Sonoma.
