Hi. I’ve been using vbox for a few years on my Mac for Drupal development. I decided since I have ports installed, I’d give it a try there. I have Apache 2.4, MySQL 5.5 and PHP 7.2 installed and configured. My issue is that Drupal wants a PDO driver, and there doesn’t seem to be any PDO MySQL driver listed.
