Hey, I would appreciate any advice on this.  

I’m running OS X Mavericks (10.9).  I’m doing Android work, so I’m using the 
version of Xcode recommended for that, 4.5.2.  I realize that this is not a 
supported configuration.  I’d really like to get it to work, though.

It’s very close.  I’ve successfully installed many ports.  Unfortunately, a 
couple of them fail.  All that fail fail in the same way: the downloaded tar 
file cannot be extracted into the work directory (see below).  If I run the 
“assembled command” from the command line, as root, it works fine.  For some 
reason, thought, the installer can’t pull it off.

I’ve looked around for permissions problems and don’t see anything obvious.

Any ideas?
