I was under the impression ports were being built using macports own
port gcc 4.2.2. In any event now that I have Leopard installed with
XCode 3.0 and the new SDKs I now see this:
macintosh:~ frstan$ which gcc
/usr/bin/gcc
macintosh:~ frstan$ gcc
i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1: no input files
macintosh:~ frstan$
and my path still starts out with /opt/local/bin etc etc as it should.
or was I just inattentive before?
