I see this message with that error (but no response):
http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/ffmpeg-user/2007-July/010101.html
I also see this MacPorts bug filed (but no resolution):
http://trac.macports.org/projects/macports/ticket/12191
It works fine for me on Mac OS X 10.4.10, Xcode 2.4.1, MacPorts
1.5.2:
$ sudo port install ffmpeg
Password:
---> Fetching ffmpeg
---> Verifying checksum(s) for ffmpeg
---> Extracting ffmpeg
---> Configuring ffmpeg
---> Building ffmpeg with target all
---> Staging ffmpeg into destroot
---> Installing ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1_2
---> Activating ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1_2
---> Cleaning ffmpeg
$
Perhaps you can provide more information about your setup.
I tried ffmpeg on another machine and it works... so apparently I
have something messed up somewhere...
both machines are 10.4.10 Intel.
Version of MacPorts? Version of Xcode? Anything in /usr/local? (Can
be problematic.) Is Fink also installed (in /sw? Can be problematic).
Since at least 2 others have also encountered this error it would be
good to know what causes it.
